Liben Monuments has been serving the Montreal community for over 80 years. Started by Mr. Abe Liben in the 1940’s, our company has earned a reputation for quality, long lasting and beautiful monuments.

In 1984 Mr. & Mrs. Hershfeld took over the company.

Mr. Yitzchok Hershfeld z”l, a native of Montreal, studied in the Chabad School and continued his Jewish and secular studies in colleges in the United States and Israel.

The acquisition of the company brought Liben Monuments to a new era. Our warm and sensitive personnel understand the needs of our clients and connect with them. Our staff has a vast knowledge of Jewish names and traditions contributing to Liben’s reputation for producing monuments of the finest quality and accuracy.

Ellen Hershfeld (née Siegfried) studied in New York and Israel and has a degree in education. Her higher education and her natural organizational skills make her adept at producing thousands of beautiful, accurately spelled monuments for very satisfied customers.

Liben Monuments specializes in monuments for clients of all backgrounds and traditions. We have been providing monuments for Ashkenazic and Sephardic Jews throughout Montreal’s ten Jewish cemeteries.

In addition to manufacturing monuments for gravesites, Liben has also created and donated signs and memorials to colleges, schools and synagogues.

Liben Monuments’ reputation is well known in the Montreal Jewish community and receives glowing testimonials from customers as well as from Rabbis and community leaders.
